A Dreamy Girl
Hi, my name is Shan Yiyun and my English name is Vivienne. I’m from
Guangdong
Province, China. I’ve been in Singapore for seven months. Now I am in NIE, having a bridging
course which will improve my English communication skills. I'm a dreamy girl who is looking for my dream here. I like daydreaming,
listening to music, go shopping with my friends and exploring the delicacies around myself. I hope I can manage to make a
progress in my English language during my bridging course. And I really want to make some good friends here in Singapore.
Maybe one day, you can become one of them.

What I’ve learned in NIE
Firstly, I think I’ve learned many learning methods which I didn’t
get to know much. For example, in reading class, I got to know how to read critically and how to tell the biasness of the
author. These skills enable me to understand an article better, and begin to see problems in different levels.
Secondly,
I became more confident and natural when I stand in front of everyone and try to present something. I think this needs practice
and bravery. After half a year’s study, I really made a big progress.
Thirdly,
I began to care about what is happening all over the world. I had more time to read books, newspapers and magazines. These
things equipped me with knowledge which I may need in the future.
Overall,
I’ve learned so many things that I couldn’t describe all of them here. I really appreciate the chance given to
me to have this course and enjoy it much.
